Every Wednesday Jake and Sasha slave and slave to put together a wonderful and informative program for your listening enjoyment. However, they have to compete with the likes of Grey’s Anatomy and other fall boob tube favorites. We just wanted to remind everyone how wonderful Jake and Sasha are. I heard they are space aliens from outer space. And also, every week they feature a family tree–a grouping of songs that are thematically linked or artists that have a common thread. Also, towards the end of each DJ shift (every Wednesday 7:30 to 9:30 PST) they play a stellar-stoner-freakout-jam. Tune in every week and you’ll be a better person for it.
You can watch this in its full film-quality glory Wed Oct 17! More info below…

me: This picture is actually from the day before at Simple Pleasures. I had forgotten that the night before I was way too tired to drive home from Berkeley and so Josh drove back to San Fran. We couldn’t find parking that night so we had to park in a spot where the car had to be moved in the morning. So, Josh got up around 5:30am to move the car to a better spot. He is the best! He went back to sleep when he came back and Jim and I practiced for the radio show a little bit. The power adapter for my keyboard was obviously going out, which was some sad news.
Josh and I went to meet my friend Amber for brunch that day. It was great to see her. Unfortunately, we only had a very short time with her because she could only meet us during her lunch break.
After that Josh and I went down to the beach where it didn’t seem too warm, but the sand was too hot to handle. Down by the water it was better and we buried each other in the warm sand. We ended up getting sand everywhere. I still have sand in my cell phone.
We then went to Radio Shack where I had to get a power adapter. When we got back to house we showered and then got ready for our Davis adventure.
After stopping for a quick meal at IHOP, we went to U C of Davis. We used a secret code to pass through a gate and then unloaded our stuff. Josh and I went to park the car and on our way out of the gate we were stopped by this super gruff police officer. He was all mad that I went past the gate without a pass and really grilled us. It was actually kind of too much and Josh and I sassed him a little- on accident. But then we calmed down and he finally let us go after checking my insurance, ID, and registration. He also lectured us for a while on the purpose of gates. After that, Josh rescued me from a creepy guy that was sitting in the bushes. It seems as if he is always rescuing me from something.
The show was interesting. They weren’t interviewing us or anything. It was just an hour of us in the studio that we had to fill all ourselves. It turned into Jim interviewing me. We filled the hour though. We then went back to Hailey’s place for one last night in San Fran.
Clyde from Your Hearts Break is one of our newest dj’s - and he’s in the house tonight, Sept 17th on the one bean taco show! You can hear Clyde’s show every week from noon til 2:00pm.
This video is from a live performance in Berlin. DUh.
So I did an image search to post a “One Bean Taco” photo on this blog…. and what did I find?!?!?!
An album by Victoria Lee Galinsky… it is called “One Bean Taco, TO GO”
I told Garrett about my find and he ordered me to download her songs.. So I did. We are going to play them tonight on our show.
But that is NOT it. My friend Jordan form NY might call in and share stories of his summer vacation.
Garrett and I will also be doing a dramatic performance of an IM conversation I had with my friend Dana. This conversation is totally rated R. (and may disclose my penis size to the entire world.)
We will also be playing lots of fun music… Like Victoria Lee Galinsky… oh yeah I said that already.
Joseph & Garrett’s One Bean Taco Show airs tonight 8-11 PM PST. It also re airs on Friday night at 10PM PST.
Mic Check 1-206 is a show with the motive to keep that Northwest/Seattle (206) Hip-hop movement alive, a show that is totally dedicated to great underground hip-hop that hasn’t gotten the plays it deserves, with a hope to have the show highlight local artists. In other words Mic Check 1-206 takes a break from all that pop-lockin, show stoppin, lean wit it and rockin, and party like rock star-in, and all those ay-bay-bay’s. If you want to hear the dopest hip-hop from your neck of the woods, tune in and let the beats and rhymes take over. In addition, if you are a local hip-hop artist interested in getting some plays you can email or mail your songs in. I will listen, and you will most likely get played. So Seattle wake up and smell the hip-hop!

They drink beer, eat popcorn and cookies, play 30 second improv sets with bells and uke and zither to introduce Hollow Earth Radio “World Premieres” of local songs. Their show is every other Thursday. Tune in. It’s awesome. Check out their show description on our DJ page.
